The Indus River civilization was a very organized civilization. Their cities were placed like ours.
The Indus River Civilization had a very good irrigation system. It helped provide a larger quantity of crops such as things like wheat, barley, cotton, rye, peas, and rice. They depended on trade a lot, and the civilization traded with Mesopotamia.
The Indus river civilization had social classes which you were born into and that could not be changed. The highest class were the Brahmins, which was the King and the preists. The following class were the Kshatriyas, who were warriors and aristocrats. Then there were the Vaishyas, which were merchants and artsians. The lowest class were the Shudras, who were peasants and serfs.
Their cities were placed very alike to how ours are today. They had seperate buildings for bathing and bathrooms, as an early form of a sanitation system. The Indus river civilization had Citadels as a method of defense. All houses had water and were molstly about the same size. They had an early pluming system. Most of the buildings had one or two stories, and were made out of dried clay-bricks.
Geography
The indus river is a river that streches across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan.


The Indus River was surrounded by natural barriers such as the Arabian sea and mountains. It sheltered the Indus river civilization from things such as attacks and disease. The River gave them fertile soil to grow crops.
